Thank you for your support!
On behalf of the Board of Directors and myself, I want to take this time to say a special thanks to all the wonderful people who have supported TimeBanks.Org since the passing of our leader and mentor Edgar. For those who knew him, we all felt a huge void. The past two years have been emotional, stressful, and really have shown the true beauty of what we all have in common other than knowing Edgar - it is what timebanking means to us in our lives.
There have been negative and untrue statements made about TimeBanks.Org since Edgar’s passing and many timebanks have left unhappy because of decisions made regarding software. We cannot change that but remember, timebanking is more than software! It is about the relationships being built, the community being made stronger by people breaking down the barriers, and learning to trust and respect and value one another. I look forward to the future of timebanking and where it takes each one of us on our journey. I hope our paths continue to cross. Together we become stronger.
I’d like to say a special thank you to Krista, Pam & Eric for believing in the work that meant so much to Edgar and their continued support. Also, a huge thanks to Chris Gray, Kari Bachman, Alice Bagley and everyone who participates in the coordinator calls and the Chat on the Bench. You are what makes timebanking richer. We appreciate and value everyone who has ever walked this path of timebanking. My hope is that 2024 we walk it together, join hands and form the bonds that are now so critical in taking timebanking to the next level.
Edgar truly was an inspiration. May we all continue to remember that and what brought us all together - our belief in timebanking and the core values. Thank you all for your faith and trust. We remember Edgars words:
“Timebanking is not just about meeting the present need, it is also how we shape the world we will leave behind. Just maybe, our time on this planet is something we hold in trust for our descendants.” - Edgar Cahn, Timebanking Founder
Sincerely,
Kathy Perlow
